Strong quality first foal for Champion Nashwa

2 February 2026

An exciting new chapter has opened for Blue Diamond Stud with the arrival of a Dubawi colt out of Nashwa.

The colt is the first foal out of our homebred Champion daughter of Frankel, whose five wins for Imad Alsagar and John and Thady Gosden included the Group 1 Prix de Diane, Group 1 Nassau Stakes and Group 1 Falmouth Stakes.

Nashwa was also placed in the Group 1 Oaks, Group 1 Juddmonte International, Group 1 Irish Champion Stakes, Group 1 Prix de l'Opera and a second edition of the Group 1 Nassau Stakes.

"We are delighted with Nashwa's first foal, a good strong colt with an attractive head and plenty of quality," said Imad Alsagar. "Nashwa is extremely special to us as a homebred Champion from a family that we continue to develop. She will now return to Dubawi."

The colt shares his sire Dubawi with Nashwa's half-brother Nebras, who signed off his three-year-old campaign with a win for us in the Listed Quebec Stakes at Lingfield Park. He stays in training for John and Thady Gosden.

Their dam Princess Loulou has a yearling full-brother to Nashwa named Nasheed. The Pivotal mare is in foal to Dubawi and will visit Sea The Stars in 2026.

In what has been a busy period for the stud, we also welcomed the first foal out of Haute Couture, a Havana Grey colt.

Haute Couture represents one of our cornerstone families as a daughter of Pearling, a full-sister to Giant's Causeway, and therefore a half-sister to our multiple Group 1 winner Decorated Knight. The daughter of Kingman now goes to Zarak.

Juri, meanwhile, has foaled a good filly from the first crop of Vandeek. Juri, an Invincible Spirit full-sister to Group 2 Gimcrack Stakes winner Ajaya and half-sister to multiple Group winner Extra Elusive, now visits Sands Of Mali. She is one of three mares we will be sending to Sands Of Mali this year alongside Gaugamela and Najeeba.
