Welcome to Blue Diamond Stud.
In the 14 years since Blue Diamond Stud was established, we have had the pleasure of breeding and racing a number of wonderful horses.
Our success is testament to our ambition, vision and the hard work of our teams overseen by Chief Executive Ted Voute and racing manager Lord Teddy Grimthorpe.
I have wonderful memories of our Classic winners Authorized and Araafa. However, it is Blue Diamond Stud and its development as a premier breeding operation that has given us most pleasure, most memorably during the era of Decorated Knight, our homebred colt whose Group 1 achievements culminated with a victory in the 2017 Irish Champion Stakes, and in recent years through our Classic heroine Nashwa.
Despite its relatively short history, there have been many other highlights, notably Ajaya’s win in the Gimcrack Stakes and that of Aljazzi in the Duke Of Cambridge Stakes at Royal Ascot. Aljazzi’s victory was particularly satisfying as she represented two generations of Blue Diamond Stud breeding, being a daughter of our first homebred stakes winner Nouriya.
The stud's 2yo crop of 2024 also served the Blue Diamond name to great effect, notably the Group 1 Futurity Trophy winner Hotazhell who was sold as part of our consignment at the Tattersalls October Sale.
Today’s broodmare band, overseen in Europe by Andrew Rawlin at Blue Diamond South, is a representation of years of careful cultivation. Meanwhile at Blue Diamond North, we have another expert team headed by Gerry Meehan to oversee our yearling division.
In 2023, we added considerably to the Blue Diamond Stud portfolio with the acquisition of Stonereath Farm in Kentucky. Managed by Jenn Laidlaw and Erin Dilger, it has allowed us to diversify and enhance our presence in the US.
We hope that Blue Diamond Stud will continue to flourish and feel we have much to look forward to.
