Homebred Thinthread off the mark

27 May 2025

It was great to see homebred Thinthread get off the mark on his seasonal debut in the Prix Yves Saint-Martin at Evreux on Tuesday.

Making his third start for Andre Fabre, the son of Invincible Spirit was settled just off the leader by Alexis Pouchin and having made smooth progress to hit the front at the head of the stretch, held off Mon Black Du Livet to win by a length.

Thinthread represents three generations of Blue Diamond breeding as a son of Cristielle, an Australia daughter of our first homebred stakes winner Nouriya from our Majestic Sakeena family. He is only the second foal out of Cristielle, whose first Lahab was a winner for us and Andrew Balding. Cristielle also has a yearling colt by New Bay and is in foal to Baaeed.

Nouriya also remains in the broodmare band. Dam of our Group 2 winner Aljazzi, whose Frankel yearling filly made headlines last year when selling for 4,400,000gns to Amo Racing, she visited Justify this year.
