Third winner in a week as Split Elevens lands ninth success

There was a third Blue Diamond-bred winner of the week on Tuesday when the admirable veteran Split Elevens, by our Gimcrack Stakes winner Ajaya, landed the apprentice handicap at Lingfield.
Partnered by Morgan Cole, Split Elevens quickened through horses to win cosily as favourite for trainer John Butler and owner Dave James. The gelding, bred by Blue Diamond out of Woodland Scene, was winning for the ninth time in 61 starts for just over £50,000 in prize-money.
"He jumped well enough today and had an easy trip round," said Morgan Cole. "I probably just hit the front early enough and he idled a bit but he did well and stuck it out."
Split Elevens joins OJ Lifestyle and Louganini as winners bred and raised during the past seven days by Blue Diamond Stud.
