Maiden success for homebred Pratigya

1 May 2024

Homebred Pratigya made the perfect start to her three-year-old campaign on Wednesday when breaking her maiden at Wolverhampton.

Placed prominently by Luke Morris, Pratigya led over a furlong out and had enough in reserve to repel the second Loveable Rogue, with the pair well clear.

Pratigya was making her third start for Harry Charlton, whose father Roger condition her sire Decorated Knight (pictured second right) to win the Group 1 Irish Champion Stakes, Tattersalls Gold Cup and Jebel Hatta.

She is the second foal out of the Group 3 Premio Dormello winner Sweet Gentle Kiss, whose first, Merlin The Wizard, developed into a smart handicapper last season for the Beckhampton team.

Sweet Gentle Kiss has a two-year-old filly by Study Of Man in training with Christopher Head, a yearling filly by Sea The Moon and a filly foal by Palace Pier.
