Louganini captures JCSA Cup

11 August 2024

Louganini capped another successful week for Blue Diamond-breds on Saturday when successful in the JCSA Cup at Ta'If in Saudi Arabia.

The Zoffany gelding was a smart performer for us when with Roger Charlton, winning at Newmarket, Haydock and Ascot, and has since brought his earnings close to £300,000 in Saudi Arabia for his new owners Fihan Bin Faisal Almindeel Sons.

On Saturday, he poached a major advantage turning into the stretch and had enough in reserve to hold off Al Marmot Gate.

Louganini is the first foal out of our Listed Gillies Stakes winner Princess Loulou (pictured right winning at Doncaster). She, of course, is also the dam of Nashwa, her third foal. The daughter of Pivotal has a two-year-old colt by Dubawi named Nebras also in training with John and Thady Gosden.

Louganini is the second winner of the week bred by Blue Diamond Stud after OJ Lifestyle, successful at Brighton.

They join a list that also includes homebred Enchanting, Group 3 Tyros Stakes hero Hotazhell, Milford, Hackney Diamonds, Sashay Away, Infinite Honor and multiple scorer Split Elevens as recent winners bred and raised by Blue Diamond Stud.
