Listed success for homebred Nebras

31 December 2025

Nebras provided us with a celebratory note on which to end 2025 when the game winner of the Listed Quebec Stakes at Lingfield Park.

Partnered for the first time by Oisin Murphy, the son of Dubawi made all the running and showed a brave attitude to repel the runner-up Tyrrhenian Sea.

He becomes the second stakes winner out of Princess Loulou following our champion Nashwa, winner of the Group 1 Prix de Diane, Falmouth and Nassau Stakes.

"Benie (de Paiva) used to look after Roaring Lion and he rides this horse a lot at home," said Oisin Murphy. "He obviously won on debut and he's been gelded now. It was a nice performance beating a course specialist with quite a good rating, a career best.

"He's heading in the right direction today and maybe he can go a bit further. He broke well and didn't waste any energy. He might have struggled a bit coming into the straight, it was falsely run and turned into a sprint. But he did it well. Black-type winners are always nice, and he's a very well bred horse."

Princess Loulou has a colt foal by Frankel named Nasheed, is in foal to Dubawi and visits Sea The Stars in 2026.

Nashwa is in foal to Dubawi and returns to him.
