Wonderful Justice makes winning debut

4 February 2023

Wonderful Justice, our homebred son of Justify, made the perfect start to his career on Friday when successful on his debut at Fair Grounds in the US.

Trained by Brad Cox, Wonderful Justice was sent off a short order under Florent Geroux and having travelled well in a prominent spot during the early stages, lengthened smoothly into the lead before holding off the late challenge of He's Got Swagger.

His win provides a great start to the stud career of his dam I'm Wonderful. The Giant's Causeway mare was bought by the stud as a yearling and boasts excellent American connections as a full-sister to Grade 1 winner and sire Carpe Diem. She is also a half-sister to the Grade 1-winning two-year-old J B's Thunder and Grade 2 scorer Farrell as well as the high-class British sprinter Doncaster Rover.

Wonderful Justice, who is from the first crop of American Triple Crown hero Justify, is the first foal out of his dam. I'm Wonderful also has a two-year-old colt by Dubawi who was sold for 625,000gns to Godolphin at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Sale and a yearling filly by Curlin. She currently resides in Kentucky ahead of a visit to Blame this season.
