Winning Newmarket debut for homebred Dutch Gallery
1 August 2015
Homebred Dutch Gallery capped a really good week for us on Friday when running out the impressive winner of his debut at Newmarket for Tom Dascombe.
Partnered by Hayley Turner, who has ridden a number of winners for us in recent weeks, Dutch Gallery showed a fine turn of foot to lead inside the final furlong and win a shade cosily by a neck from Wimple Hall. The pair pulled two lengths clear of the third.
Dutch Gallery’s victory provides a bright start to the stud career of Luluti, who joined Blue Diamond Stud when purchased for 100,000gns in 2009.
The Dutch Art colt is only the second foal out of the daughter of Kheleyf, a half-sister to the Group 3-placed two-year-old Excellerator. Further back it is the family of top miler and successful sire Efisio.
Luluti (left) has a yearling colt by Poet’s Voice, a colt foal by Sepoy and is in foal to Acclamation.
Meanwhile at Goodwood, another homebred Justineo ran a good race to finish sixth in the King George Stakes.
In the words of the Racing Post, Justineo showed ‘amazing pace’ to go clear of his field heading down the hill and was collared only close home. He will have his day.
