Tisa River bought at TADEC; will visit Decorated Knight
2 December 2020
We were extremely delighted to add Tisa River to our broodmare band at the Tattersalls December Sale. She will visit Decorated Knight in 2021.
Bought for 400,000gns, the daughter of Equiano is a half-sister to two Breeders’ Cup winners; the Filly & Mare Turf heroine Iridessa and last month’s Mile hero Order Of Australia. Indeed their dam, Senta’s Dream, is one of only six mares in history to produce multiple Breeders’ Cup winners.
Iridessa was also a top-class two-year-old for Joseph O’Brien who won the Fillies’ Mile and later took the Matron and Pretty Polly Stakes at three.
Another half-sister, Santa Barbara, also looked smart when winning her debut at the Curragh earlier this year.
Senta’s Dream, by Danehill, is one of only two foals out of another Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf winner in Starine.
Tisa Dream has a colt foal by Kessaar on the ground and is in foal to top sprinter Blue Point.
“When there is the opportunity you have to take it with both hands,” said Tony Nerses. “A half-sister to two Breeders’ Cup winners is not something that you see very often and she will make a very nice addition to Decorated Knight’s first book next year. We are very glad to have her.”
