Decorated Knight: in the midst of a purple patch

A third winner in three days! Decorated Knight‘s excellent run continued on Monday as Without Delay landed a deserved success over a mile at Musselburgh.

Trained by Tracy Waggott, Without Delay justified market support in style, travelling well under Dale Swift before lengthening clear for a length success.

“I was thinking of sending her over mile when we started with her,” Tracy Waggott told Racing TV. “And today, the mile suited her, especially with the bend. I’m over the moon, really pleased with her. She’s settling really well and she loves top of the ground. We’ve got the key to her now.”

Her success arrives hot on the heels of that of Ferrari Queen, Decorated Knight’s first two-year-old runner of the year who was introduced at 33/1 for next year’s 1,000 Guineas after winning well at Doncaster on Saturday evening, and Kind Gesture, the 10-length winner of the mile novice at Windsor for Prince A A Faisal on Sunday.

Without Delay was bred by the Irish National Stud – also breeders of Ferrari Queen – out of Apace, a winning Oasis Dream daughter of Group 2 winner Much Faster.

She becomes the 17th winner for Decorated Knight out of a first crop that numbers 39 named foals. In addition to the exciting Kind Gesture, the list includes Danish 2,000 Guineas winner Charming Knight, well-regarded Goodwood maiden winner Knight Of Honour and dual scorer Knightlaila.
