Three new exciting yearlings were added to the fold at this week’s Book 2 of the Tattersalls October Sale in Newmarket.

Tony Nerses paid a session-topping 370,000gns during the first day for a gorgeous Raven’s Pass filly out of Aneedah. Sold by Rathbarry Stud, she is the second foal out of her Listed-placed dam, who is an Invincible Spirit sister to current high-class sprinter Muthmir.

Aneedah is also a half-sister to Group 3-winning two-year-old My Titania.

“She’s the most beautiful filly I’ve seen in a long time – very special, athletic and with a great page,” Nerses told the Racing Post. “I was pleased to find a horse of this calibre in Book 2 . She’s a Book 1 filly.

“I only came today for a meeting, I didn’t come to buy!”

The following day, Tony went to 280,000gns for a Dutch Art colt out of Miss Quality sold by Clairemont Stud. He is a half-brother to a winner and out of a half-sister to the dam of top two-year-old White Moonstone. It is also the further family of Breeders’ Cup Sprint heroine Desert Stormer and her Grade 1-winning granddaughter Better Lucky.

“He’s by a good sire and I’m very happy to take him home,” Nerses told the Racing Post. “This is the first Dutch Art yearling we’ve bought this year and it was the build of the individual that attracted us to him. He looked the real deal.”

The final member of the trio was a sharp Dark Angel colt out of Skehana from Knockatrina House Stud.

Out of a half-sister to Group 1-winning sprinter Fayr Jag, he cost 180,000gns.
