Stylish winning return for Ghalib

22 April 2015

Ghalib, a 150,000gns Tattersalls December Foal purchase by Tony Nerses, made a stylish return to action on Tuesday when the easy winner of a 6f handicap at Kempton.

Ghalib travelled strongly in the hands of Andrea Atzeni before asserting a furlong out. At the line, the son of Lope De Vega had two-and-a-half lengths in hand of his rivals to score on his first start for trainer Ed Walker.

Always highly regarded by connections, this win should have done Ghalib’s confidence the world of good. He is a half-brother to South African Group 1 winner Europa Point and unbeaten Richmond Stakes winner Harbour Watch, now standing at Tweenhills Farm & Stud. It is the further family of champions Dubai Millennium, Elnadim, Mehthaaf and Timber Country
