Striking filly is first Decorated Knight foal for BDS of 2020

Blue Diamond Stud welcomed its first Decorated Knight foal of the season on Sunday in a striking filly out of the regally-bred Maid To Master.

The filly (pictured left), who bears a striking resemblance to her multiple Group 1-winning sire, is the sixth foal out of her dam and a half-sister to current winner Maximus Xander.

Maid To Master is a sister to Group 1-winning miler and leading sire Mastercraftsman and also to the Group 1-placed Famous, dam of last year’s Melbourne Cup third Il Paradiso. It is the further family of champions Sakhee and Celestial Storm.

Maid To Master now visits Camelot.

Group 1 sire Camelot is also the sire of another recent addition to the stud in a filly out of the winning Miss Laila. Foaled on January 16, the filly is the second foal out of her dam, a Dark Angel relation to Group 3 winner Red Badge.

Miss Laila also has a yearling colt by Decorated Knight and is due to return to the stallion in 2020.

Triple Group 1 winner Decorated Knight, a relation to champion sire Giant’s Causeway, stands at the Irish National Stud for €9,000.
