Son of top 2yo to represent Decorated Knight at Foal Sale
14 October 2019
A Decorated Knight colt out of the top-class Princess Noor will come under the hammer as Lot 955 from Norelands Stud on day three of this year’s Tattersalls December Foal Sale in Newmarket.
Princess Noor was purchased for 675,000gns by Barronstown Stud while carrying the colt at last year’s Tattersalls December Mares Sale.

Princess Noor is a fine illustration of the depth of quality sent to Decorated Knight in his first season. Trained by Roger Varian, she made all the running to win the 2013 renewal of the Group 3 Princess Margaret Stakes at Ascot by two lengths before running a brave second to Vorda in the Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket.
The Decorated Knight colt is her fourth foal and preceded by a Sea The Stars filly, Princess Nadia, who sold for 600,000gns at last year’s Tattersalls December Foal Sale.
Decorated Knight was a brilliant winner of the Group 1 Irish Champion Stakes, Group 1 Tattersalls Gold Cup and Group 1 Jebel Hatta during a busy campaign in 2017.
Few stallions at stud boast such a rich pedigree; by Galileo, he is out of Pearling, a Storm Cat sister to Champion Sire Giant’s Causeway as well as Group 3-winning 2yo You’resothrilling, herself dam of Classic winner and leading young sire Gleneagles.
Decorated Knight stands at the Irish National Stud and we look forward to supporting him at the upcoming foal sales.
