Smashing Fastnet Rock filly for Soon
23 April 2018
April 22 turned out to be an extremely busy day for everyone at Blue Diamond Stud with the arrival of three extremely exciting foals, namely those out of Soon, Nouriya and Ellbeedee.
Soon’s latest foal is a lovely filly by leading Coolmore stallion Fastnet Rock. Purchased by Tony Nerses for 800,000gns in 2013, Listed winner Soon has been a tremendous addition to the stud as the dam of our talented Jousi, a winner at Ascot for Hugo Palmer last summer, and Tuk Power, a Dubawi filly who realised 1,300,000gns to Alastair Donald at last year’s Tattersalls October Sale.
Soon, a daughter of Aidan O’Brien’s first Classic winner Classic Park, is unsurprisingly heading back to Dubawi in an effort to repeat the cross of both Jousi and Tuk Power.
Meanwhile, the good Blue Diamond family of Majestic Sakeena has gained another notable addition in a Golden Horn half-brother to our Atalanta Stakes heroine Aljazzi.
The pair are out of our Listed John Musker Stakes winner Nouriya, in turn a half-sister to the talented pair Lady Nouf and Yuften. They are out of Blue Diamond foundation mare Majestic Sakeena.
The Golden Horn colt is the sixth foal out of Nouriya and follows an Australia two-year-old filly, who is with Roger Charlton, and a yearling filly by Frankel.
Aljazzi, meanwhile, holds entries in the Sandown Mile and Lockinge Stakes for Marco Botti. There is plenty going on in this family, and her 2019 foal by Decorated Knight will be eagerly anticipated.
We are also very happy to have two Kingman foals on the stud. The latest to arrive is a filly out of the well-related Ellbeedee, another who is set to be covered by Decorated Knight this year.
Ellbeedee, a half-sister to Grade 2 winner Uncharted Haven from the immediate family of High Heeled and Just The Judge, hit the ground running at stud with her first foal, the Listed-placed Bournemouth Belle.
Hopes now switch to her two-year-old Intello filly, who is with Hugo Palmer, and Mastercraftsman yearling filly.
