Smart winning debut for BDS-bred Remmooz
25 April 2025
Another day, another winner bred by Blue Diamond Stud.
Fresh off the heels of Burhan's win in the Listed Prix du Pont-Neuf at Longchamp, Remmooz made a smart winning debut in what is a traditionally strong maiden at Doncaster for Sheikh Ahmed al Maktoum and Owen Burrows. The Blue Point colt overcame inexperience to outbattle the favourite Sea Force for a narrow win.
"That was a very nice run," said jockey Callum Rodriguez. "He was very professional in the prelims, he jumped good and was able to get into a nice pitch. He showed a nice attitude when it mattered.
"We hoped he would show up well. He went through his race easily, showed a good attitude and galloped out well after the line so there's a lot of positives.
"He's a nice type with plenty of size and scope. Hopefully he will progress nicely through the year."
Remmooz is the first foal out of Italian Listed winner Lady Ramon, a Ramonti relation to Grade 1 winner Gaily Gaily. He was sold by us at the 2022 Tattersalls December Foal Sale.
