A smart Lope De Vega relation to Mastercraftsman is among the latest new arrivals at Blue Diamond Stud.

Foaled on March 3, he is the third foal out of the regally-bred Maid To Master, a sister to Classic winner and leading sire Mastercraftsman. Maid To Master already has a War Front yearling filly on the ground and is set to visit Frankel next.

Mastercraftsman himself, meanwhile, is represented at the stud by colts out of Island Dreams and Crystal Swan who were born within days of each other in early March.

The first to arrive on March 5 was a bay colt out of Crystal Swan from the famous Watership Down Stud family of Crystal Music and Ocovango. His dam, a winning daughter of Dalakhani, also has a yearling filly by Intello and now visits Authorized.

The Island Dreams colt arrived five days later on March 10.

He is the fourth foal out of his dam, whose second is the exciting three-year-old Mr Khalid – the stud homebred went into many notebooks when the seven-length winner of his maiden for Marco Botti last season.

Island Dreams, a Giant’s Causeway half-sister to Group 2 winner Rob Roy, now visits Kodiac.

Another exciting arrival was a sister to last year’s Group 2-placed two-year-old Raucous, by Dream Ahead out of Queen Mary Stakes runner-up Shyrl. The filly is the fourth foal out of her dam, who now heads to Kingman.

We have also welcomed a colt from the first crop of top miler Charm Spirit out of triple winner Buredyma. He is a fine first foal for his dam, a Dutch Art relation to Champagne Stakes winner Petardia who now visits our own stallion Sayif.

Meanwhile, Group 3 winner Fairy Bridge Stakes Lady Wingshot gave birth to her second foal on March 15, a filly from the second crop of Kentucky stallion Declaration Of War. Lady Winghsot, a multiple-winning three-parts sister to Listed winner Bahama Mama, is set to be covered by leading European first-crop sire Zoffany.

Finally, Elhaam, a winning Shamardal half-sister to stud favourite Justineo, gave birth to her first foal on March 17, a filly by Poet’s Voice. Elhaam will now be covered by Mastercraftsman.
