Smart debut victory for Shaden
4 June 2015
A bright future beckons for two-year-old Shaden following her debut victory at Nottingham on Wednesday.
The first juvenile runner of the year for Lady Cecil, Shaden didn’t disappoint, picking up inside the final two furlongs to take up the running and score cosily by half-a-length.
“Shaden was a little bit green beforehand but she was very professional, she did it nicely,” Lady Cecil told the Racing Post. “She is our first two-year-old runner and we liked everything she had done at home. Most of our two-year-olds are more three-year-old types and she was always the most forward.”
Bred by Deerpark Stud, Shaden was purchased by Tony Nerses for 40,000gns out of Book 2 at last year’s Tattersalls October Sale. The daughter of Kodiac is a half-sister to a winner and out of Lady Avenger, a Listed-placed Namid mare from the family of top miler Lahib.
