Sister to G1 winner Carpe Diem added at Keeneland
12 September 2017
Our return to Keeneland for the September Sale was a successful one, with Tony Nerses coming away with a charming filly by Giant’s Causeway during the first session.
Sold by Beau Lane Bloodstock on behalf of breeder Coffee Pot Stables, the filly is out of stakes winner Rebridled Dreams, by Unbridled’s Song, and thus a sister to Grade 1 winner Carpe Diem, now at stud at WinStar Farm in Kentucky. Carpe Diem was one of the leading colts of his generation in America, winning the Grade 1 Blue Grass Stakes and Breeders’ Futurity and running second in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile.
The filly is also a half-sister to one of this season’s stars in Farrell, who won the Grade 2 Fair Ground Oaks and Rachel Alexandra Stakes by daylight at Fair Grounds earlier in the year, as well as Grade 1-winning two-year-old J B’s Thunder and Group 3-winning sprinter Doncaster Rover, now at stud in England.
The filly will now ship to Blue Diamond Stud and a trainer will be decided at a later date.
