Second win of 2015 for homebred Bella Nouf

The colours of Saleh Al Homaizi and Imad Al Sagar visited the winners’ enclosure for the second time in 24 hours on Friday, on this occasion courtesy of homebred Bella Nouf, who won a competitive fillies handicap in good style at Newbury.
The daughter of Dansili, trained by William Haggas, was prominent throughout under Andrea Atzeni. Kept to the far rail as they entered the straight, she was kicked on two furlongs out and wasn’t challenged to win by three-and-a-half lengths.
“Bella Nouf is a nice filly and she was good today,” Maureen Haggas told the Racing Post. “She hung badly at Redcar, but you couldn´t fault her today. I think the cheekpieces helped and we put a different bit in her mouth. She enjoyed the ground and stays well.”
Now the winner of two of six starts, Bella Nouf holds a special place at Blue Diamond Stud as one of four daughters out of foundation mare Majestic Sakeena.
Bella Nouf is a half-sister to Listed winner Nouriya
Bought for 200,000gns by Tony Nerses at the 2006 Tattersalls December Sale, Majestic Sakeena went on to breed Nouriya, winner of the Listed John Musker Stakes and Listed Lyric Stakes, as well as Lady Nouf, who ran second to Talent in the Listed Pretty Polly Stakes.
The daughter of King’s Best is also the dam of Yuften, who was second past the post in last year’s Group 1 Prix Jean Prat.
Sadly, Majestic Sakeena died earlier this year. However, both Nouriya and Lady Nouf are now members of the broodmare band at Blue Diamond Stud while her last foal is a yearling filly by Galileo.
