Saleh Al Homaizi and Imad Al Sagar with Decorated Knight
We are delighted to announce that Saleh Al Homaizi and Imad Al Sagar, owners of Blue Diamond Stud, have been named the TBA’s Breeder of the Month for March/April.
Blue Diamond Stud received the award in light of the recent high-profile achievements of homebreds Decorated Knight and Aljazzi.
Decorated Knight, bred by Saleh Al Homaizi and Imad Al Sagar out of the stud’s foundation mare Pearling, travelled to Meydan in March to win the Group 1 Jebel Hatta. In the process, he became the stud’s first Group 1 winner during it’s short history.
Decorated Knight is the first foal out of Pearling, a daughter of Storm Cat who joined the stud when purchased by Tony Nerses at the 2011 Tattersalls December Sale.

Decorated Knight
Pearling boasts a pedigree out of the top drawer as a sister to champion Giant’s Causeway, subsequently a multiple champion sire for Coolmore in America, and the Group 2-placed Freud, himself a leading sire in New York.
Another sibling, Cherry Hinton Stakes winner You’resothrilling, is the dam of top miler Gleneagles, Irish 1,000 Guineas heroine Marvellous and Group 3-winning juvenile Coolmore.
Aljazzi stretches clear under Ryan Mooe
Aljazzi, meanwhile, opened her season for Marco Botti last month by taking the Listed Snowdrop Stakes at Kempton.
The daughter of Shamardal represents two generations of Blue Diamond breeding as the first foal out of Nouriya, another stud homebred who carried our colours to victory in the Listed John Musker Stakes and Listed EBF Lyric Stakes.
In turn, Nouriya, by Danehill Dancer, is a half-sister to the Listed-placed Lady Nouf, also a member of the Blue Diamond band, and Balmoral Handicap winner Yuften, who also finished second past the post in the Prix Jean Prat.
The past two months have also featured wins by fellow homebreds Mr Khalid and Zefferino, both of whom are trained by Roger Charlton. Another stud graduate, classy sprinter Raucous, broke the 6f track record at Chelmsford City on his return to action in April for William Haggas.
