York success for Remmooz adds to a good week

12 July 2025

The exciting Remmooz bounced back to winning ways when taking a competitive mile handicap at York on Saturday.

Successful on his first two starts for Owen Burrows, Sheikh Ahmed al Maktoum's colt ran well in fourth in the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot prior to York, which he won in cosy fashion under Kevin Stott to become the latest BDS-bred winner of the week after Bosphorus Rose at Epsom and Gentleman Joe at Limerick.

"He's taken a step forward," said Kevin Stott. "It's always harder taking on older horses. He ran a very nice race at Ascot, he just got a little bit too far back but ran on well.

"We made use of our draw today. We went a nice gallop, got a split when we needed it and my horse lay down and stayed on really strongly. He probably is a Group horse in the making - when he hits top gear he takes off."

Remmooz was bred by Blue Diamond Stud out of Italian Listed winner Lady Ramon, a Ramonti relation to Grade 1 winner Gaily Gaily. He was sold by us to DR Bloodstock at the 2022 Tattersalls December Foal Sale.

He is part of a powerful 3yo crop bred by Blue Diamond Stud that also includes Group 1 winner Hotazhell, Listed scorer Burhan and the stakes-placed Nebras.
