Record performance from Raucous headlines BDS double

Blue Diamond graduates did the stud proud this week, with Raucous and Vik The Billy both successful in their respective races.
Raucous, who was bred by Saleh Al Homaizi and Imad Al Sagar out of Shyrl, broke the track record when successful over 6 furlongs at Chelmsford City on Thursday.
The son of Dream Ahead has run to a good level of form for William Haggas throughout his career to date, notably as a two-year-old when third to our own Ajaya in the Group 2 Gimcrack Stakes at York.
He was also third in last year’s Group 3 Bengough Stakes at Ascot, beaten just under two lengths by Shalaa.
Judging by the ease with which he dispatched Kadrizzi at Chelmsford, another successful season lies ahead for Raucous.
Raucous is out of our Queen Mary Stakes runner-up Shyrl, a daughter of Acclamation purchased by Tony Nerses as a two-year-old. Shyrl also has a two-year-old colt by Sayif, a yearling sister to Raucous by Dream Ahead and a filly foal by Kingman. She is due to visit Ajaya this year.
Meanwhile at Milan in Italy, Vik The Billy became the fifth winner out of Epiphany when the brave winner of her debut for Sergio Dettori. The daughter of Bated Breath dead-heated with Bonita Fransisca to become the first two-year-old winner of the year for her sire.
Epiphany’s earlier winners include Agerzam, Idder and Zari, all of whom ran to an useful level.
Epiphany, a winning Zafonic relation to Irish 2,000 Guineas winner Indian Haven purchased to join Blue Diamond Stud by Tony Nerses, also has a yearling filly by Exceed And Excel and a colt foal by Sayif. She is due to return to Bated Breath this year.
