Rayoumti caps productive period for Blue Diamond
29 June 2014
Three-year-old Rayoumti made a successful debut for George Margarson with a victory in handicap company at Windsor. Rayoumti was prominent throughout and showed a good attitude to take command in the final furlong.
“She has been working well and I expected a big run,” Margarson told the Racing Post. “I thought the trip and turning track would suit. The way she has won today she might step up to a mile and a quarter.”
By Lawman, Rayoumti was a £30,000 yearling purchase through Marco Botti.
Margarson also saddled Epic Battle to win over 1m2f at Pontefract on June 22 while the Richard Hannon-trained Potentate broke his maiden a day later at Chepstow. Both are sons of Acclamation.
Meanwhile, Igider made it third time lucky for Roger Varian when breaking his maiden over 1m2f at Windsor on June 16. The son of Teofilo, bought for 180,000gns as a yearling by Tony Nerses, has not been out of the frame in three starts.
