Princess Nadia never headed at Newbury

17 July 2021

Princess Nadia maintained her progression in fine style at Newbury on Saturday, making all for a clear cut success in the 1m2f fillies novice for John and Thady Gosden.

Third on debut at Salisbury before running a close second to the classy Mandoob at Haydock, Princess Nadia was never headed under Hollie Doyle on this occasion and crossed the line a length to the good of Country Pyle.

Princess Nadia, by Sea The Stars, becomes the first winner out of our Princess Margaret Stakes heroine Princess Noor. Purchased by Tony Nerses as a yearling, the daughter of Holy Roman Emperor was a high-class and tough two-year-old for Roger Varian who ran out the wide-margin winner of the Princess Margaret Stakes at Ascot and ran second in the Cheveley Park Stakes.

Princess Noor, a relation to top sprinter Dream Ahead, also has a two-year-old colt by our own multiple Group 1 winner Decorated Knight who cost 190,000gns as a foal and is in training with John and Thady Gosden.
