Perfect start for Sonic Angel

Sonic Angel, bred and raised by Blue Diamond Stud, looked a colt to follow on Friday when justifying favouritism on his debut at Newcastle.
Trained by Simon and Ed Crisford on behalf of Sheikh Juma Dalmook Al Maktoum, Sonic Angel showed a good attitude to repel the more experienced Siouxperb to win in snug fashion with the pair well clear of the third.
The Dark Angel colt was bred by the stud out of Breath Of Joy, a homebred daughter of Kodiac who carried our colours to success in two races back in 2020. In turn, Breath Of Joy is out of Island Dreams, a Giant's Causeway half-sister to the high-class Rob Roy.
"He was very professional out of the gates," said jockey Jack Mitchell. "He was showing the right signs at home to be a nice horse, and it's a nice starting point to come here."
Sonic Angel was sold by us through Malcolm Bastard at the Tattersalls Ireland Breeze-Up Sale at Fairyhouse, where he was knocked down to Richard Brown of Blandford Bloodstock.
Breath Of Joy has a yearling colt by Havana Grey catalogued to the Goffs Premier Sale in Doncaster. She also has a Mehmas colt foal and is in foal to Starman.
