Just days after Nashwa‘s brilliant victory in the Group 1 Nassau Stakes at Goodwood, her half-brother Louganini added his own update to the family with a wide-margin success in the JCSA Cup at Ta’If racecourse in Saudi Arabia.

The son of Zoffany, who is out of Princess Loulou, won three times in our colours for Roger and Harry Charlton, during which time he hit a rating of 100.

He was sold at the end of last year and now races for Alshakareen Stable.

Nashwa and Louganini were bred at the stud out of Princess Loulou, a daughter of Pivotal who won the Listed Gillies Stakes at Doncaster in our colours. Highly talented on her day, she also ran second in the Group 1 Prix Jean Romanet at Deauville.

While Louganini is the mare’s first foal, Nashwa is her third. Nashwa was our first homebred Classic winner when successful in the Prix de Diane in June and followed that up with an impressive win in Thursday’s Group 1 Nassau Stakes at Goodwood to confirm herself as a leading filly of her generation.

Princess Loulou, who hails from the famous Wigan/Pelting family of Braashee, Hadeer and Awzaan, also has a yearling filly by our multiple Group 1 winner Decorated Knight who is catalogued as Lot 93 at the Arqana August Sale and a colt foal by Dubawi. She is currently in foal to Frankel.
