New Jazz, winning daughter of Scat Daddy, joins BDS

9 July 2020

We were delighted to add a daughter of the mighty Scat Daddy to our broodmare band on Thursday with the purchase of New Jazz for 130,000gns at the Tattersalls July Sale in Newmarket

Offered by Godolphin, the winning mare is in foal to top sprinter Harry Angel. Her dam, the Listed-placed Seanchai, is an English Channel half-sister to Listed winner Traffic Guard, who also ran second in the Group 1 Irish Champion Stakes, and from the further family of Group 1 winners Chief Advocate and Erin’s Isle.

“We always wanted a Scat Daddy!” said Tony Nerses. “She is a lovely individual, we saw her as a yearling [when sold for $550,000 at the Keeneland September Sale] but she was beyond our pocket then. Glad to get her back now. She is a winner and has a decent page, very happy!

“We hope to cover with our own stallion [Decorated Knight ], she should suit him.”
