New arrivals in Newmarket and Kentucky add to busy spring

8 March 2023

It has been an international few weeks on the foaling front for Blue Diamond Stud.

Andrew Rawlin and his team recently foaled a very special arrival in Tisa River's colt by Frankel. Tisa River is a half-sister to the Group/Grade 1 winners Iridessa, Order Of Australia and Santa Barbara, and is already a black-type producer herself having produced last season's Listed-placed two-year-old Bolt Action in her first season at stud. Tisa River now visits Camelot in an effort to repeat the cross previously responsible for Santa Barbara.

New addition Sophie, meanwhile, is the dam of a filly by Aclaim. Sophie is a Farhh half-sister to last season's 1,000 Guineas winner Cachet and therefore Sophie's filly is a three-parts sister to George Boughey's Classic heroine.

We have also welcomed a sweet filly by Saxon Warrior out of Qibla, a Fastnet Rock mare from our long-serving Majestic Sakeena family also responsible for Aljazzi and Nouriya. Qibla now visits Mishriff at Sumbe in France; it's rare to find such versatility and toughness in a horse coupled with his kind of Group 1 talent, plus Mishriff is a beautiful horse from Prince Faisal’s wonderful Rafha family of Invincible Spirit and Kodiac. We are delighted to be supporting him.

Over in Kentucky, Floret foaled a lovely filly from the first crop of Palace Pier at Royal Oak Farm. Floret's first foal, a two-year-old by Kingman, goes to Andre Fabre while she also has a yearling colt by Sea The Stars. A Galileo half-sister to multiple Group 1 winner Moonlight Cloud from the famous Doff The Derby family, Floret now visits Blame.

At Omega Farm, new addition Angle Of Attack, a stakes-winning daughter of Maclean's Music, produced her first foal, a smart filly by leading American second-crop sire Bolt d'Oro. Angle Of Attack returns to the Spendthrift Farm stallion.
