Nisser provides Richard Hughes with farewell Windsor win

Nisser handed Richard Hughes a farewell Windsor winner on Monday when the impressive winner of the 5f juvenile maiden for Richard Hannon.
It couldn’t have been any easier for Nisser, who only had to be pushed out under hands and heels to score by 3 3/4 lengths. It was a deserved success, with the colt having run third to subsequent Group 2 winner Shalaa on his debut at Newmarket.
“We thought he was our Coventry horse,” Hannon told At The Races, “and we still think he’s a good horse. He looked very good tonight – like the horse we thought he was.
“We’ll find something nice for him at the back end, perhaps something like the Horris Hill. To be fair to the horse, he probably didn’t know enough first time out, and it’s nice to see him get a confidence booster here.”
Nisser – who shares his sire, Dream Ahead, with the promising Blue Diamond Stud-bred two-year-old Raucous – was bought on behalf of Saleh Al Homaizi and Imad Al Sagar for £130,000 by Tony Nerses out of the Catridge Stud Farm draft at last year’s DBS Premier Sale.
He was bred by Lady Whent out of the winning Listed-placed Bold Edge mare Poppy Seed and is from the further family of top sprinter Pipalong.
