It continues to be a busy spring for broodmare manager Andrew Rawlin and his team. There have been four new arrivals during the past week alone, including a special colt by Dubawi and a flashy filly by Sea The Stars.

The Dubawi colt is a son of the Group 1-placed Princess Loulou and is the biggest foal to have ever been born at Blue Diamond. The well-developed chestnut is the fifth foal out of his dam, who won the Listed EBF Gillies Fillies Stakes and ran second in the Group 1 Prix Jean Romanet for Roger Varian. Her first foal, Louganini, was a smart handicapper for us while there are high hopes for her three-year-old Nashwa, who was a promising third on her only start last season at Newmarket.

By the exceptional broodmare sire Pivotal and a member of the successful West Blagdon family of Pelting, Princess Loulou returns this year to Frankel, the sire of Nashwa.

Another high-flying mare, Dawn Of Hope, is the dam of the Sea The Stars filly. Born on Friday, she is a flashy chestnut filly just like her dam, a daughter of Mastercraftsman who was trained by Roger Varian to win the Listed Prix Petite Etoile at Deauville and run placed in the Group 3 Snow Fairy Stakes.

Dawn Of Hope was a yearling purchase but her connection to the stud runs deeper since she is a half-sister to Ayrad, a much-loved campaigner who won two Listed races and was multiple stakes-placed for us. Further back it is the family of top sprinters Dowsing and Stravinsky.

Dawn Of Hope‘s first foal, the Decorated Knight filly Kind Gesture, is in training with Roger Varian. She also has a two-year-old Kingman colt, a yearling colt by Invincible Spirit and visits Pinatubo this year.

Invincible Spirit is also the sire of a colt out of homebred Cristielle born on Tuesday. He is the second foal out of Cristielle, an Australia daughter of our first homebred stakes winner, Listed scorer Nouriya, and therefore a half-sister to our Group 2 Duke Of Cambridge Stakes heroine Aljazzi and Listed scorer Majestic Noor.

Cristielle‘s first foal, a two-year-old colt by US Navy Flag, is in training with Andrew Balding, a new addition to our roster of trainers this year.

Rivercat has also foaled a very sweet filly by Make Believe. The winning Rivercat boasts an exceptional pedigree as a winning Kitten’s Joy half-sister to Listed scorer Anjaz, a daughter of Group 1 winner Playful Act from the famous Magnificient Style family of Nathaniel and Great Heavens.

Rivercat has a two-year-old filly by Raven’s Pass in training with Johnny Portman, a yearling filly by Decorated Knight and returns to New Bay.
