Our new association with Hollie Doyle continues to flourish. Fresh from a pair of Group 3 successes on Extra Elusive and a burgeoning relationship with the unbeaten Faisal, the ascending Doyle landed yet another big-race success in Imad Al Sagar’s colours when steering Majestic Noor – a half-sister to our Royal Ascot Group 2 heroine Aljazzi – to victory in the Listed EBF Stallions John Musker Stakes at Yarmouth.

In the process, she emulated her dam Nouriya, successful in this race back in 2010.

Long held in good regard by John Gosden, our homebred daughter of Frankel won at Yarmouth and Newbury earlier in the year before finding 1m4f too far in the Listed Prix de Thiberville at ParisLongchamp.

Given a break of 55 days, Majestic Noor was imperious at Yarmouth on Wednesday, leading two furlongs out under Doyle and stretching clear for a length-and-a-half success over Black Lotus.

“It was pleasing performance,” Hollie Doyle told At The Races. “She jumped well and I was lucky enough to get the box seat and the further I went, the better. 

“I got there in a great position [from wide draw] in the end and luckily I was not caught out three wide. She is a very straightforward filly that made my life easy.

“It was a really open field. She ran over 12 furlongs last time out in France and I know they don’t think she really stayed, but I know she stays 10 furlongs through and through, so I made a bit of use of her.

“I watched her run in Longchamp and it was the day I met Imad and Tony and I thought ‘I can’t wait to ride next time, stepping back in trip’. I needed a bit of company as she wasn’t doing a whole lot when I hit the front, but she has gone away nicely.”

Doyle believes Majestic Noor is capable of scoring back in Group race company, should connections decide to take that route. 

“She has been tried over 12 but 10 furlongs she gets easily,” she said. “I’d like to think there is a Group race in there and I’m sure Mr. Gosden will be on the case. Over here or France would be ideal.” 

She added: “I’m pretty jammy aren’t I? I’ve had two Group Threes on Extra Elusive so he is probably my biggest one for the owner, but this is up there as well. 

“It has gone really well. I was in the right place at the right time.”

Majestic Noor represents two generations of Blue Diamond breeding as a daughter of Nouriya, another stud homebred who carried our colours to victory in the Listed EBF Lyric Stakes in addition to the 2010 John Musker.

She is a half-sister to our brilliant racemare Aljazzi, the winner of five races including the Group 2 Duke Of Cambridge Stakes at Royal Ascot and Group 3 Atalanta Stakes at Sandown. At the end of her career, the daughter of Shamardal sold for a sale record of 1 million guineas at the Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale.

Majestic Noor is also a half-sister to the winner Nawar. Their dam, Nouriya, is a half-sister to the Listed-placed Lady Nouf and Balmoral Handicap winner Yuften, who also finished second past the post in the Prix Jean Prat. They are out of foundation mare Majestic Sakeena.

Nouriya has a two-year-old colt by Golden Horn named Liverpool Knight who is also with John Gosden. She also has a yearling colt by our multiple Group 1 winner Decorated Knight and returned to Frankel this year.

Blue Diamond is also home to Nouriya’s daughter Cristielle, who recently foaled a striking colt from the first crop of US Navy Flag.
