Listed success for BDS-bred Remmooz
19 September 2025
Remmooz became the latest member of the 2022 foal crop to be bred and raised by Blue Diamond Stud when successful for Sheikh Ahmed Al Maktoum in the Listed Dubai Duty Free Cup at Newbury on Friday.
The son of Blue Point has been progressive for Owen Burrows this season, winning his first two races at Doncaster as well as a competitive handicap at York. On Friday, he showed a really game attitude to overhaul Volterra with the pair well clear.
"It was a fairly straightforward race," said jockey Callum Shepherd. "We were hopeful of getting a nice even gallop and this lad relaxed and travelled.
"Volterra kicked and took a couple of lengths out of us and we just had a bit of work to do but he's responded well. I think a mile is his optimum trip, he's a horse that travels well. He's still a young horse, it's his first season racing and hopefully he'll improve with a winter on his back."
Remmooz was bred by Blue Diamond Stud out of Italian Listed winner Lady Ramon, a Ramonti relation to Grade 1 winner Gaily Gaily. He was sold by us to DR Bloodstock at the 2022 Tattersalls December Foal Sale.
He is part of a talented 3yo crop bred by Blue Diamond Stud that also includes Group 1 winner Hotazhell, Listed scorer Burhan and the stakes-placed Nebras.
