Justify arrival for BDS; Dawn Of Hope foals striking Kingman colt

2 March 2020

In what has been a busy period at Blue Diamond Stud, we welcomed a pair of smashing foals at the weekend in a filly from the first crop of American champion Justify and a Kingman colt out of stakes winner Dawn Of Hope.

The Justify filly is one of only a handful foaled so far in Europe by her sire, who earned notoriety in 2018 as only the 13th American Triple Crown winner in history.

She is the sixth foal out of her dam Woodland Scene and a half-sister to multiple winner Martineo. Woodland Scene is a half-sister to Group 1 winner Crowded House, Listed scorer On Reflection and Argent Du Bois, the dam of Group/Grade 1 performers Brando and Ticker Tape.

Further back it is the family of the legendary Storm Cat.

Woodland Scene also has a yearling filly by Declaration Of War and now visits our multiple Group 1 winner Decorated Knight.

Justify is also the covering sire of I’m Wonderful, a Giant’s Causeway sister to Grade 1 winner Carpe Diem.

The Kingman colt is an equally special arrival for Blue Diamond Stud.

A son of one of the most exciting young stallions worldwide, he is the second foal out of Dawn Of Hope.

One of Tony Nerses’ favourite mares, this tough daughter of Mastercraftsman won three races for Roger Varian including the Listed Prix Petite Etoile at Deauville. She was also second in the Listed Pipalong Stakes and third in the Group 3 Snow Fairy Stakes.

Dawn Of Hope was a yearling purchase by Tony Nerses and is a half-sister to our tough Listed winner Ayrad and from the immediate family of top sprinters Stravinsky and Dowsing.

Her first foal is a smashing first-crop daughter of our multiple Group 1 winner Decorated Knight. She now visits Invincible Spirit.
