Kasbah defeats older horses in competitive handicap

4 October 2015

Three-year-old Kasbah returned to winning ways at Wolverhampton on Saturday evening when recording a much deserved success against older horses in the 0-95 handicap.

Sent over from Ireland by trainer Johnny Murtagh, Kasbah appeared to be hampered on the home turn but recovered sufficiently to pick up and win cosily under Shane Kelly from Seeking Magic. As a result, the son of Acclamation boasts a record of two wins from 11 starts and approximately £37,000 in prize-money.

Bred in Ireland by Castlemartin & Skymarc Farm, Kasbah was bought by Tony Nerses for £160,000 at the 2013 DBS Premier Sale. He is a half-brother to current smart two-year-old Tashweeq and out of the winning Dansili mare Dance Hall Girl, a relation to Irish 2,000 Guineas winner Bachir.
