Invincible Spirit colt heads latest arrivals
9 March 2015
A cracking Invincible Spirit colt and a filly from the first crop of Intello are among the foals that have arrived at Blue Diamond Stud in recent weeks.
The Invincible Spirit colt, born on March 2, is the second foal out of the Pivotal mare Turama, whose first is a chestnut colt by Frankel.
Turama boasts an excellent pedigree as a half-sister to Sun Chariot Stakes heroine Spinning Queen, herself dam of Listed winners Gallipot and Trade Commissioner, and granddaughter of blue hen Lady Blackfoot, dam of Grade 1 winner Labeeb and Group/Grade 2 winners Alrassaam and Fanmore.
As befits such connections, Turama is booked back to Kingman for 2015.
A few days earlier on February 28, the stud welcomed a first-crop daughter of the exciting Intello. She is the third foal out of Crystal Swan, whose first is a Galileo colt, Blenheim Warrior, in training with William Haggas.
The winning Crystal Swan, bought by Tony Nerses for 260,000gns in 2009, is a Dalakhani half-sister to Grade 2 winner Grande Melody and from the famous Crystal Spray family responsible for Crystal Music, Dubai Success and Ocovango among others.
Crystal Swan now visits Mastercraftsman.
We were particularly pleased with our first-crop foals by Sayif last year and that trend has continued into this season. We currently have two on the ground, the latest of whom is a bay colt out of Manaaber born on March 1.
He is the third foal out of his winning dam, a Medicean daughter of Group 3 winner Needlecraft from the further family of 2,000 Guineas winner Tirol.
Manaaber, a 42,000gns purchase by Tony Nerses in 2012, now visits Showcasing.
In other stud news, Sayif’s dam Sewards Folly has been scanned in foal to Kingman. The daughter of Rudimentary is also the dam of Group 3-winning two-year-old and sire Hunter Street.
