Homebred Lahab breaks his maiden

24 August 2023

Lahab continued a memorable week for Blue Diamond Stud on Thursday when easily breaking his maiden at Chepstow.

Our homebred son of US Navy Flag ran well on his seasonal debut when third in a competitive Kempton novice and made no mistake this time, making all under Hollie Doyle for a three-and-a-quarter length success.

In the process, he became Imad Alsagar's first - of many we hope - winner with Andrew Balding.

Lahab hails from a true Blue Diamond Stud family as the first foal out of Cristielle, a homebred Australia daughter of our first homebred stakes winner Nouriya. In turn, the daughter of Danehill Dancer, who won the Listed Lyric and John Musker Stakes, went on to produce our Group 2 Duke Of Cambridge Stakes heroine Aljazzi. They are out of our foundation mare Majestic Sakeena.

Cristielle has a yearling colt by Invincible Spirit and is in foal to New Bay.
