Zefferino: homebred Frankel colt is out of Turama
After showing so much promise last year, it was exciting to see our homebred Zefferino break his maiden in good style for Roger Charlton at Lingfield on Friday.
Ridden by James Doyle, Zefferino tracked the leaders early on during the 7f event before asserting for a comfortable success.
The son of Frankel is the first foal out of Turama, a Pivotal half-sister to Group 1 Sun Chariot Stakes winner and stakes producer Spinning Queen from the famous Lady Blackfoot family of Grade 1 winner Labeeb and his Group/Grade 2-winning siblings Fanmore and Alrassaam.
Turama has a two-year-old colt by Invincible Spirit, who is also with Roger Charlton, and a yearling colt by Kingman. She is in foal to Dream Ahead.
