Group 3 success for Eleganz
25 October 2026
Eleganz took another exciting step forward on Sunday when landing a deserved stakes win in the Group 3 Prix Belle de Nuit at Saint-Cloud for Andre and Lavinia Fabre.
Running off the back of an encouraging fifth in the Group 1 Prix de Royallieu, Eleganz came with a withering run down the outside under Oisin Murphy to reel in the pacesetter and win in cosy fashion from Frances Ethel.
"We are very happy," said our racing manager. "She is a beautiful filly who loves soft ground. This victory is very important for her. If she stays in training, the goal will certainly be the Prix de Royallieu. Before the end of the year, we might see her run again in Munich, in the Grosser Allianz Preis von Bayern."
Eleganz joined Blue Diamond Stud when purchased at the BBAG September Sale. From the last crop of the much-missed Adlerflug, she was bred by Gestut Rottgen and received an almost immediate pedigree update when her half-sister to Erle won the Preis der Diana.
Eleganz herself has rewarded a patient approach, winning her debut at Saint-Cloud in April last year before running third in the Group 3 Prix de Royaumont. She has been steadily progressive again this season, which bodes well for her five-year-old campaign.
