In a reflection of the strong support afforded to Decorated Knight, the Prix de l’Abbaye heroine is slated to visit the stallion in 2020.

Gilt Edge Girl, a Monsieur Bond half-sister to Flying Childers Stakes winner Godfrey Street, is the dam of Listed scorer Time’s Arrow for the Niarchos family. She is currently in foal to Saxon Warrior and has young stock by Galileo, Frankel and Ulysses to run for her.

“It’s a joint effort between Blue Diamond and the Irish National,” said Imad Al Sagar. “She goes to Decorated Knight. Her Frankel yearling is well regarded and she still has lots of mileage in her.”

DECORATED KNIGHT

Decorated Knight will also cover ALBORAYA (bought for €55,000), a winning half-sister to the Group 1-placed Trip To Rhodos; QUEENS HARBOUR (bought for €40,000), a Listed-placed mare currently in foal to Holy Roman Emperor; RIVERCAT (bought for €200,000), a winning Kitten’s Joy member of the outstanding Magnificent Style family in foal to Raven’s Pass; MORNINGTIDE (bought for €60,000), a Shamardal granddaughter of blue hen Hellenic; and PENLIGHT (bought for €90,000), a Shamardal half-sister to Dubai World Cup heroine Monterosso.

Particularly exciting is Rivercat. Her half-brother Dubai Future is now the winner of two of three starts for Godolphin while she is out of Grade 3 winner Anjaz. In turn, Anjaz is a Street Cry daughter of Fillies’ Mile heroine Playful Act, herself a sister to Nathaniel and Great Heavens.

They were among eight stakes horses produced by Magnificent Style, a high-class filly for Mahmoud Fustok’s Buckram Oak Holdings who won the 1996 Musidora Stakes.

As for Morningtide and Penlight, the cross with Decorated Knight results in inbreeding to blue hen Mariah’s Storm.

Decorated Knight was very well received at the Goffs November Sale, with foals selling for €66,000 and €50,000 etc. The triple Group 1 winner, who is a Galileo relation to champion sire Giant’s Causeway, will stand the 2020 season at the Irish National Stud for €9,000.
