Decorated Knight wins the Irish Champion Stakes

We are delighted to announce that each of the first four mares covered by our multiple Group 1 winner Decorated Knight have been scanned in foal.

They are:

Cosmopolitan Girl: our own highly rated daughter of Dream Ahead

Charming Loza: another Blue Diamond mare, she is a half-sister to stakes-placed Bournemouth Belle and shares her sire Lawman with another member of the family, champion Just The Judge

Native Picture: also owned by Blue Diamond Stud, she is a Kodiac half-sister to Group 1 Golden Jubilee  Stakes winner Kingsgate Native

Katch Me Katie: dam of the Group 2 Lonsdale Cup winner Pale Mimosa and high-class stayer Nearly Caught

We are sending over 25 of our own mares to Decorated Knight this season, including the top-class 2yo Princess Noor, high-class Dawn Of Hope, Group 3 winners Lady Wingshot and Shaden, and Aljazzi’s dam Nouriya.

“He had a breathtaking turn of foot and on top of that is closely related to Giant’s Causeway,” said Tony Nerses. “It’s one of the best stallion families around. We couldn’t be more excited about him.”

Saleh Al Homaizi and Imad Al Sagar bred Decorated Knight out of Pearling, a sister to champion American sire Giant’s Causeway bought by Tony Nerses at Tattersalls in December 2011.

Decorated Knight won eight races including the Group 1 Irish Champion Stakes, in which he beat Churchill and Eminent, Group 1 Tattersalls Gold Cup and Group 1 Jebel Hatta. The son of Galileo retires to stud as the earner of over £1.3 million.

Decorated Knight is standing his first season at the Irish National Stud for €15,000.
