Fillies by Baaeed and Tapit add to busy foaling period
16 February 2026
It's been a busy period in both Newmarket and Kentucky with the arrival of five February foals so far.
They include a filly by Champion Baaeed who is the latest foal out of Group 3 winner Sweet Gentle Kiss. Foaled on February 5, she is a half-sister to Merlin The Wizard, who was a talented handicapper for us, and the winning Pratigya. Sweet Gentle Kiss also has a three-year-old filly named Nermine (by Sea The Moon) with Harry Charlton and a two-year-old filly by Palace Pier.
The daughter of Henrythenavigator now visits Vandeek.
Vandeek is also the sire of a smart filly out of Juri, a homebred Invincible Spirit full-sister to our Gimcrack Stakes winner Ajaya and half-sister to Group 3 winner Extra Elusive (pictured bottom right). She is the second foal out of Juri, who now visits Sands Of Mali.
Mehmas is the sire of a colt out of our winning Kodiac mare Breath Of Joy while Countessa, a winning Camelot relation to the brilliant milers Miesque and Alpha Centauri, has foaled a colt by Kingman.
Breath Of Joy now heads to Starman.
Over in Kentucky, our first foal of the year at Stonereath Farm is a lovely Tapit filly out of Ocean Safari (pictured second right, pic: Amy Lanigan).
She is the second foal out of Honey Ryder Stakes winner Ocean Safari following a colt by Not This Time, now a yearling. The daughter of Temple City now visits Oscar Performance.
