Exciting winning debut for Summer House
7 June 2020
Summer House made a striking winning debut at Lingfield Park for Godolphin and Saeed bin Suroor on Sunday, flying from nowhere to run down the leaders and win on the line.
In a remarkable performance, Summer House hit the line with a head to spare over the colt Duck And Varnish.
Bred by Saleh Al Homaizi and Imad Al Sagar, the Lope De Vega filly becomes the second winner out of Soon following Jousi, a talented performer who won at Ascot as a two-year-old.
Soon was a high-class filly for Aidan O’Brien who won two races including the Listed Vincent O’Brien Ruby Stakes. The daughter of Galileo was also placed in the Group 3 Gallinule and Noblesse Stakes.
Soon boasts a fine family as a half-sister to Derby runner-up Walk In The Park – now a leading jumps sire – and daughter of Irish 1,000 Guineas heroine Classic Park, who is etched in history as Aidan O’Brien’s first ever Classic winner.
Summer House was sold at the Tattersalls October Sale by Blue Diamond Stud through New England Stud for 220,000gns to Stroud Coleman Bloodstock.
Soon also has a two-year-old filly by Fastnet Rock named Nassima in training with Roger Charlton and a yearling colt by Dubawi. She visited Golden Horn this year.
Jousi is also a valued member of the broodmare band and has a colt foal by Golden Horn.
