Exciting new arrivals in Newmarket and Kentucky

8 March 2024

A busy spell on both sides of the Atlantic has featured the arrival of a number of exciting foals, among them a Lope De Vega colt out of our Listed winner Dawn Of Hope born at Stonereath Farm.

A flashy colt (pictured) like both his sire and dam, the colt is the sixth foal out of Dawn Of Hope. The mare's first three foals - Kind Gesture, Variable Cost and Blown Away - are all winners and her two-year-old filly by Sea The Stars, Gaugamela, is with Andre Fabre. Dawn Of Hope now visits Justify.

Justify is also on the cards for Moonlight Cloud's half-sister Floret, who foaled a filly by Blame at Stonereath on Thursday. She is one of two Blame foals on the farm this year alongside a colt (pictured) out of our young stakes producer I'm Wonderful. The daughter of Giant's Causeway has hit the ground running at stud as the dam of our Black Gold Stakes winner Wonderful Justice and now visits Tapit.

Stonereath also welcomed the first foal out of Saratoga Dew Handicap heroine Dancing Kiki in a fine colt by leading sire Medaglia d'Oro. A daughter of leading broodmare sire Blame, Dancing Kiki now heads to Violence, which mirrors the same cross behind champion Forte.

Closer to home, Blue Diamond Stud in Newmarket has welcomed eight foals, the oldest of which is a New Bay colt out of Cristielle. A second generation homebred for Blue Diamond, Cristielle is already the dam of a winner in Lahab. Her two-year-old colt by Invincible Spirit is with Andre Fabre and the daughter of Australia now visits Kingman.

New Bay is also the sire of a filly out of Lady Rasha, a Dansili half-sister to Extra Elusive and Ajaya who now visits Churchill, and a filly out of Nadia Promise, a member of our Majestic Sakeena family who heads to Blue Point.

Sania foaled a good colt by Siyouni and now visits Cracksman. By Dark Angel, Sania hails from the same family as Siyouni, meaning that the colt is inbred 3x3 to Slipstream Queen.

Another leading influence, Dark Angel, is sire of a colt out of the winning Kodiac mare Breath Of Joy. She visits Havana Grey, also the sire of a filly out of Rivercat, a Kitten's Joy member of the famous Magnificient Style family.

Palace Pier, meanwhile, is represented by a filly out of Group 3 winner Sweet Gentle Kiss. The daughter of Henrythenavigator is dam of our useful handicapper Merlin The Wizard and her two-year-old filly by Study Of Man has joined Christopher Head.
