Exciting future for Fadillah
23 April 2016
Fadillah made a lovely debut at Haydock Park for William Haggas on Saturday when winning the mile maiden in cosy fashion.
The regally-bred filly, a yearling purchase by Tony Nerses, made her move two furlongs out under Pat Cosgrave and defied her inexperience to take it up in the closing stages and win going away by three-quarters of a length.
“She was very green and hopefully she´ll improve as she goes up in trip as this was the bare minimum,” William Haggas told the Racing Post. “We might look at an Oaks trial.”
Bred by Ecurie des Monceaux and Haras de St Pair, Fadillah owns a pedigree out of the top drawer and will be wonderful addition to the Blue Diamond Stud broodmare band once her racing days are over.
She is from the final crop of the late German champion sire Monsun and a sister to the Classic-placed Soberania. She is also a half-sister to Group 1 winner Seismos and out of the winning Sasuela, a half-sister to the multiple Group 1 winners Samum and Schiaparelli.
This is also the immediate family of German Derby hero Sea The Moon.
