Enchanting impressive at Goodwood to secure a winning BDS-bred double

Homebred Enchanting turned in an impressive performance at Goodwood on Friday when taking the 5f handicap to bag her second career success.

Partnered by Hollie Doyle, Enchanting was able to put her pace to good use to hold her position on the rail before bursting clear for a wide-margin success.

Trained by Andrew Balding, the daughter of Blue Point was the second winner of the evening to be bred by Blue Diamond Stud after Dame Sarra (Decorated Knight x Queen Sarra), winner of the mares' novice hurdle at Newton Abbot.

"She's got so much natural speed," said Hollie Doyle "She would have been closer at Epsom [when fourth in the 3yo Dash] had she not hung on the camber. We've always thought a lot of her.

"I've known her since she was a foal, I remember seeing her at the stud - she was like a little bull. The lads have done a good job with her at home. We'll see how she progresses - every aim for an owner-breeder is black type so we'll see how she goes."

Enchanting is the second foal out of Tisa River, a half-sister to Group/Grade 1 winners Iridessa, Order Of Australia and Santa Barbara. Tisa River's first foal, Bolt Action, was a black-type performer for Roger Varian. The mare also has a yearling colt by Frankel and colt foal by Camelot.
