The Grand Visir powers clear under Harry Bentley
The Grand Visir returned to form in emphatic style at Doncaster on Friday with an impressive success on his first start for John Butler in the 1m6 1/2 furlong handicap.
Despite returning off a lengthy break and shouldered with the burden of 10 stone, The Grand Visir made most of his early prominent position to bound clear under Harry Bentley for a three-length length victory over Winston C. It was another six lengths back to the third.
It was The Grand Visir’s second win of the campaign following a good win over two miles at Haydock back in May.

The son of Frankel had a productive first season on the track for William Haggas last year, winning two of his six starts including his debut at Yarmouth and a handicap at Newmarket, won in brave fashion in abysmal conditions.
Overall, he is the winner of three of nine starts.
The Grand Visir was purchased by Tony Nerses as a yearling from the draft of his co-breeder Ecurie des Monceaux at the 2014 Arqana August Sale and is out of the Montjeu mare Piping.
She hails from a powerful Jean-Luc Lagardere dynasty as a daughter of Italian champion Saganeca, in turn also dam of Arc hero Sagamix, Group 1-winning two-year-old Sagacity, Group 2 winner Sage Et Jolie (dam of Group 1 winner Sageburg) and the Listed-placed Shastye (dam of the Group 1-placed Secret Gesture and Group 3 winner Sir Isaac Newton).
The Grand Visir’s win came on the same day that Sayem, bred by Saleh Al Homaizi and Imad Al Sagar, won the 7f handicap at Kempton. It was the fourth win for Sayem, a daughter of our former stallion Sayif and bred by the stud out of Usem.
