Emirates Currency strikes again

1 March 2024

The venerable Emirates Currency added yet another win to his record on Friday when successful at Riyadh in Saudi Arabia.

Also a winner at Chelmsford City and Meydan to go with his six wins in Saudi Arabia, the seven-year-old son of Muhaarar was bred at Blue Diamond Stud out of Loulwa (pictured right).

On Friday, Emirates Currency swept from the back of the field under Alexis Moreno to take up the running a furlong out before holding off the late challenge of Milwaukee to win by just under a length.

Owned by Refaei Sanat Alghuraban, he is one of six winners out of Loulwa, a daughter of Montjeu who carried our colours to victory in the Listed River Eden Stakes at Lingfield Park. She is also dam of our multiple Listed winner Justineo, a brilliantly fast and consistent horse for us.

Emirates Currency was sold as a yearling through Voute Sales for 65,000gns to Ahmad al Shaikh at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Sale.
