A pair of well-connected, classy colts will represent multiple Group 1 winner Decorated Knight at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Sale in Newmarket.

First to sell is Lot 372, a colt out of the top-class two-year-old Princess Noor from Jamie Railton.

Princess Noor was a brilliant winner of the Group 3 Princess Margaret Stakes at Ascot before running second in the Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes. By Holy Roman Emperor, she is from the very fast family of Dream Ahead and Fairyland.

Lot 372 was purchased as a foal for 190,000gns.

Catalogued as Lot 432 is a chesnut colt out of another fast two-year-old in Shaden. The daughter of Kodiac carried our colours to victory in the 2015 Group 3 Firth Of Clyde Stakes at Ayr.

This colt, who is consigned by New England Stud, is Shaden’s first living foal.

Decorated Knight, who stands at the Irish National Stud, won eight races including the Group 1 Irish Champion Stakes, Group 1 Tattersalls Gold Cup and Group 1 Jebel Hatta.

By Galileo, he is out of Pearling, a sister to three-time American champion sire Giant’s Causeway.

“I have complete belief in Decorated Knight,” Imad Al Sagar explained to the Racing Post last November. “He’s a very special horse with a very special pedigree – his close relation Gleneagles is one of the most successful progeny of Galileo so it’s a stallion’s family.

“I myself have sent him 28 mares and we have some very nice foals. You can see his stamp on them – they’re similar to what he was like as a foal.

“If I don’t believe in him, why should others? Now I have to choose the trainers carefully to give him the maximum possibility of success.”
